Course Summary

This course is a continuation of Animation Foundations. Student continue their development as animators through a series of exercises that introduce them to new techniques and refine the techniques they've already learned. The major focus of the course is the development of a short film from concept development through the screening of the finished project.

The course consists of a screening and a studio meeting each week. These two components inform each other; the screenings will cover themes that go into the history of animation more deeply and relate directly to student's developing work. Studio time is focused on the development, planning, and implementation of project ideas and techniques. Concept development and critique in particular receive a stronger emphasis than in introductory classes.
